SYN - beat around the bush, prevaricate

"The heavily equivocated response, made him angry since he had been so honest and clear with her."

"She knew the way that he would equivocate that he wasn't as commited to the statements as she was."

"He couldn't handle someone who would knowingly equivocate when they would have meaningful conversations."
